In the eastern region of India, there is a city where the residents value literature, philosophy, and the vibrant legacy of Bengal. I'm referring to Kolkata or Calcutta if you want, also known as The City Of Joy. 

The town has long been known for its vibrant political culture and as India's former capital. The city traditionally welcomes visitors from all over the world and has a lot to offer, despite problems like terrible traffic and pollution.


India's largest and second-largest cities are both in Kolkata. For a considerable time, it has been a part of India. The town was given its name in honour of its founder, Captain George Calcutta, who completed his mission and later returned to his native country. 


Following his return, he went in quest of a new city that might serve as the seat of the fledgling state of India. He made his home here and gave his hometown the new state name. You may discover India's rich cultural legacy by travelling to the city of Kolkata.


Many art and museum galleries in Kolkata display the numerous facets of the local culture and art. Visitors will be able to experience the diverse art forms that have been a part of the city's legacy by visiting these galleries, which are made up of collections dispersed across the city.
