Comparison! Oh Comparison!
Comparison, oh comparison,
The thief of joy and peace,
It brings about frustration,
And never seems to cease.
When we compare ourselves to others,
We focus on what we lack,
We overlook our own blessings,
And only see what we lack.
We see others' achievements,
And feel our own are small,
We forget that everyone's journey,
Is unique and personal.
We long for what we do not have,
And overlook what we do,
We forget to count our blessings,
And all that we've been through.
Comparison leads to envy,
And bitterness takes root,
It breeds a sense of entitlement,
And a lack of gratitude.
We should remember that our worth,
Is not defined by others' success,
We each have our own purpose,
And unique talents to express.
So let us learn to be content,
With who we are and what we've got,
And celebrate the successes,
Of others, without a second thought.
For comparison brings only pain,
And never leads to growth,
Let us focus on our own path,
And appreciate our own worth.
